“She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” - Matthew 1:21 CSB
As we just looked at Mary and her visit with an angel of the Lord, it feels only fitting to look at the same situation with Joseph. Joseph was the earthly father to Jesus, the husband of Mary. Joseph found himself in a situation where the woman whom He was planning to marry, was found with child and it was not his child. This certainly caused many emotions for Joseph to walk through and thoughts that probably went through his head. God knew that Joseph would need some help navigating those thoughts and emotions and so He sent him an angel as well to help explain what was happening in their lives.
Much like Joseph, when we are walking through situations in life that are confusing, frustrating, upsetting, hurting, you name it. God wants to be there with us and provide us with the wisdom and knowledge to help navigate those concerns and situations. This is, afterall, what Jesus came to do, to bring peace to the nations.
